    We had a really hard time finding a baseball team We had a really hard time finding a baseball team for the boys this year. This team came together, a mix of 10u and 11u kids of all experience levels, with only three practices together before the start of the season. Smith’s Towing graciously sponsored them, hence their super-cool Wreckers uniforms. Andy is a seasoned youth soccer coach but was nervous coaching baseball at this level. He asked our longtime friend Marty to help and Marty was all in — as were some great parents. Andy and Marty spent hours talking practice and game strategy, and Marty even redid the kids’ batting helmets with handmade Wreckers logos. These kids played against teams that have played together for years. And they never won a game. But they ran out on the field to play, every practice, every inning, every game, and even when run ruled, they came back out again the next time around and they got better. They were placed in a small three-team tournament and tonight they.won.their.first.game. I think sometimes wins like these are actually the sweetest wins of all.
